QUOTES NOT FOUND IN THE BIBLE

The following is a list of quotes that I have had people tell me were in the Bible or heard some preacher saying, "The Bible says..." and then giving his favorite quote that is really not in the Bible. If you have heard of some others please feel free to tell me about it so I can put them on this page. The Bible has gotten a bad name in some sinners minds because of the fool sayings of men that they blame God and the Bible for saying. Let us always do our best to quote the word of God as accurately as possible, and never add our thoughts and sayings to the word of God.

1. Once saved, always saved. (Cp. John 15:1-10; James 5:19-20)
2. Once in grace, always in grace. (Cp. Galatians 5:4)
3. When you get saved God forgives all of your sins: past, present, and future. (Cp. Romans 3:25; 2 Peter 1:9)
4. When God looks at a believer He only sees the blood of Christ. (Cp. Isaiah 59:2; 1 John 1:9)
5. Money is the root of all evil. (Cp. 1 Timothy 6:10)
6. God helps those who help themselves.
7. God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. (This comes from a song, not the Bible!)
8. If any man says that he is free from sin, he deceives himself, and the truth is not in him. (Cp. Romans 6:6-7; 1 Peter 4:1; 1 John 1:8, 10)
9. Once a son, always a son.
10. You can be so heavenly minded that you are no earthly good.
11. Spare the rod and spoil the child. (Cp. Proverbs 13:24)
12. There is neither male nor female in heaven. (Cp. 1 Corinthians 15:38)
13. There is a sickness unto death. (Cp. 1 John 5:16)
14. Love worketh by faith. (Cp. Galatians 5:6)
15. The black race is a cursed race.
16. We don't have to repent, because repentance is a work. (Cp. Luke 13:3, 5; Acts 2:38; 17:30)
17. The age of miracles is passed. (Cp. Mark 16:17-20; John 14:12; Hebrews 13:8)
18. The gifts of the Spirit passed away with the last apostle. (Cp. Mark 16:17-20; John 14:12; 1 Corinthians 13:8-10)
19. The time will come when you cannot tell summer from winter, but by the falling of the leaves. (Cp. Genesis 8:22)
20. It is a shame for a woman to worship with her head bare. (Cp. 1 Corinthians 11:5-7, 16)
21. God said it, I believe it, and it is so!
22. God works and none can hinder.
23. Man will always sin in thought, word, or deed. (Cp. John 8:31-36; 1 Peter 4:1; 1 John 3:8-10; 5:18)
24. God's trees are evergreens.
25. Woe to the dog seller and buyer.

27. Confession brings possession.
28. It is a sin for a woman to preach in the church.

30. Cleanliness is next to godliness.
31. Water baptism saves. (Cp. 1 Peter 3:21)
32. Grace is God's unmerited and unconditional favor.
33. It is a sin to plait the hair. (Cp. 1 Peter 3:3)
34. In the last days men will become weaker and wiser.
35. Death-bed repentance will not save the soul in the day of judgment.
36. A bastard shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. (Cp. Deuteronomy 23:2; Matthew 11:28)
37. In the midst of life we are in death.
38. I have found a thousand men to one woman that can be trusted. (Cp. Ecclesiastes 7:28)
39. Don't take what you cannot give.

53. The Lord shaves with a razor. (Cp. Isaiah 7:20)
54. A little bird told me so. (Cp. Ecclesiastes 10:20)
