Description: Paul is often maligned by sinners looking to excuse their willful rebellion against Christ. They claim salvation, but then pervert Scripture in order to try to make it seem their sinful lives are what is to be expected from the Christian life. 1 Timothy 1:15 is a great verse that testifies to how Jesus came to save sinners, but that point it almost always ignored and only the last half is used. When we look at the context we see that it teaches something completely different from the "chief of sinners" teaching that is commonly derived from it.
