The Purpose Of The Sun, Moon, And Stars

THE PURPOSE OF THE SUN, MOON, AND STARS

By Ryan Hicks

In the six-days of re-creation God established the Solaric Covenant, and restored the sun, moon, and stars to their original purpose.

Genesis 1:14
14   And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15   And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16   And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17   And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18   And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

Psalm 136:7-9
7   To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:
8   The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:
9   The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Jeremiah 31:35
35   Thus saith the L
ORD which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

Psalm 72:5
5   They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.

Psalm 89:35-37

36   His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
37   It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

Clearly the Scriptures teach us that the sun is to rule and lighten the day, and the moon and the stars are to rule and lighten the night. Need there be any more question as to their purpose?
